Advancing TCU
Working to provide a world-class, values-centered university experience
Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr., is focused on one goal: providing TCU students the finest educational experience possible — both inside and outside the classroom.
He’ll go the distance to see this happens. In fact, 4,700 miles — the distance between the Metroplex and London, where he attended study-abroad Frog Camps the summers of 2008 and 2009. The Chancellor also keeps his finger on the pulse of the campus by teaching a class in the College of Education. It’s a natural fit. He not only holds the rank of professor of education, but also brings an extensive background in higher education administration to the classroom.
Ambitious initiatives for the University are a result of Vision in Action, a major strategic planning effort Dr. Boschini launched after becoming TCU’s 10th chancellor in 2003. From this planning process grew the vision of creating a world-class, values-centered university experience. The Campaign for TCU is making that vision a reality. On the home front, the Boschinis frequently support a wide variety of campus activities. Chancellor and Mrs. Boschini are the parents of four “very busy kids” who love sports and the arts, and both stay involved with their children’s schools and other activities. Elizabeth ’09 currently attends graduate school, and Mary is a current Horned Frog. Edward and Margaret attend high school and middle school respectively. Since his arrival in Fort Worth, Chancellor Boschini has “pretty much embraced all things Texan.” A member of the boards of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Van Cliburn Foundation, he says, “It’s my privilege to take an active role in as many community ventures as possible. “After all, TCU is Fort Worth’s university.” |
